Dwayne Bravo, the legendary cricketer known as the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, has made the bittersweet decision to retire from the CPL after the current season. The 40-year-old all-rounder shared this news just hours before the Trinbago Knight Riders' first match of CPL 2024 against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in Basseterre. Bravo's announcement has left fans in awe as they prepare to witness his final games in the league.
"It's been a great journey and I'm looking forward to playing my final professional tournament in front of my Caribbean people," Bravo posted on Instagram. "TKR is the place where everything started for me and will end with my team."
Bravo is also the highest wicket-taker in the CPL currently, with 128 strikes in 103 games at an average of 22.40 and economy rate of 8.69.
