In a bold decision, Haryana chose to bat against Mumbai with Dalal stepping up as the opener. After scoring only 4 runs against Madhya Pradesh, he redeemed himself with scores of 23 and 67 against Jharkhand. Dalal went on to form a remarkable 410-run partnership with his opening partner Arsh Ranga. Sadly, Ranga was dismissed for 151 on the last ball of the 98th over, caught by Atharva Bhosale. At that point, Dalal was standing strong at 243 runs.
